The countdown is on! We are just weeks away from the 2026 DTAG Summer Conference, and we are excited to bring together utility professionals, engineers, technicians, communicators, operations personnel, and industry partners for two days of learning, networking, and collaboration.

 We are excited to welcome Latrice Harkness, Director of Engineering for NERC, as our keynote speaker.

Featured Presentation - The History of NERC and Large Load Action Plans

As the utility industry continues to evolve, this presentation will provide valuable insights into the history of NERC. Through a look at NERC's evolution and a discussion of Large Load Action Plans, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the industry's ongoing commitment to reliability and the strategies helping utilities prepare for the future.

The2026 DTAG Summer Conference will feature discussions centered on SCADA, Large Load Action Plans, communications technologies, and the latest Fiber and RTU updates—topics that are directly impacting our EMCs today. We’re just a few weeks from the 2026 Summer DTAG Conference! Be sure to register soon as our hotel group rate is only available until the 12th.

We will be hosting a vendor expo alongside the conference on Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be plenty of raffle opportunities so we encourage you attend both days.

Gresco will be sponsoring a pre-conference networking event. Please register if you plan to attend. Hotel rates begin at $119.00 per night. Mention DTAG or GTC when calling or use the link below to book with the group rate.

Gresco has graciously offered to host a pre-conference networking event on Monday, June 29th. All conference attendees are invited to join us for an evening of fun at the Driven Interactive Sports Lounge. Food and beverages will be provided while you use the pro-level racing and golf simulators! Please register with the links above. If you are already registered for the conference, then please be sure to register for the event as well.

We’d also like to remind you that the hotel group rate is available until 6/12.

Vendor payment information has not been released yet. Once we have reached our table limit, we will notify all vendors that registration is closed. Shortly there after payment information will be sent out.

DTAG Members and Vendors,

Registration is now open for the 2026 Summer DTAG Conference! It will be held at Central Georgia EMC’s headquarters in Jackson, GA on June 30th and July 1st. The conference will be filled with topics suggested by your peers and presented by Cooperative employees and vendors. Topics will focus primarily on SCADA and how it has been utilized. Please see the attached agenda.

Gresco will be sponsoring a pre-conference networking event at Driven Interactive Sports Lounge the evening of June 29th. Please RSVP on the main registration page if you plan to attend. In addition to door prizes, we will be giving away an early-bird prize to one our members. Be sure to register early!

The conference welcomes all personnel from the electric utility industry, and it is completely free of charge. We will be hosting a Vendor Expo during both days of the conference. This presents a valuable opportunity to gain insights into both emerging technologies and developments impacting our industry. GTC will be offering tours of their Fiber and Metering trailers for all attendees. A fiber splicing workshop will be held on Wednesday afternoon.

We hope that you can take advantage of these opportunities to network within our industry, connect with vendors, and exchange ideas with other Cooperatives.

Thank you for attending the 2025 Fall DTAG Conference. We hope everyone had a good time in Rome. Please fill out our survey with the link below. We depend on your feedback to make improvements and to keep the conference relevant. Conference presentations and the business meeting minutes can be downloaded below.

We’d like to thank Gresco and all of our vendor sponsors for supporting DTAG. We’d also like to thank OPC and the operators at Rocky Mountain for organizing the plant tours. Lastly, DTAG would not be possible without the folks at GTC. They contribute time and funds to keep DTAG operating year after year.

We’ll soon begin work on the Spring meeting. You should expect to see some requests for guest speakers early next year. The Spring meeting will focus on SCADA systems so we’d like to get plenty of EMCs and vendors involved.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again in the Spring.

We’re excited to announce that Cas’ D’ Angelo will be kicking off the day as our keynote speaker. Below is a summary of his background and the expertise he’ll be bringing to DTAG.

“Cas’ D’ Angelo has a diverse and highly technical background.  He is currently serving as an IT Professional at Georgia Tech, bringing extensive experience in information technology leadership and network infrastructure management.

His career reflects a strong focus on technology leadership within academic and research environments. Within Georgia Tech's information technology ecosystem, Cas progressed through several key roles, including Associate Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Interim Associate Vice President, Director of Network Engineering, and Chief Network Architect. These positions demonstrate increasing responsibilities in overseeing IT operations, managing network engineering initiatives, and designing network architecture. His work supported the university's commitment to advanced science and technology.

Prior to his current role, Cas served as President at Southern Crossroads SoX, an initiative dedicated to serving the research and education sectors. In this capacity, he focused on enhancing connectivity and collaboration among non-profit organizations through research support and network infrastructure initiatives. Cas also contributed as a Network Engineer at Southern Light Rail (SLR), an Georgia Tech affiliated corporation, managing network infrastructure connecting research universities to national network resources. His work at SLR facilitated collaborative research activities within the Southern region.

Cas's background is supported by knowledge of electrical engineering principles, earned from Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his BEE in 1992.”

We want to extend our gratitude to the members that attended the Spring conference as well as the vendors for making it possible. We also want to thank GTC for hosting us at their headquarters and Gresco for organizing the networking event. Pictures from the conference will be posted here soon.
